You Can Change Your World!
by Ada Porat
You have the power within you to change your world! Here’s how:
The vibration of your words and thoughts powerfully affect outcomes in your life. In fact, science shows that every mental state emits vibration that attracts external conditions that resonate with it.
All desire starts with a thought: “I think I’ll plant a garden” or “I think I’ll go back to school.” That thought ignites the energy of desire to deliberately draw resonant outcomes to us from a field of infinite probabilities. It creates a blueprint of the form and then energizes it through desire to manifest on the physical plane.
By focusing on positive thoughts through visualization and affirmation, we set into motion a laser beam of focused energy to attract the desired outcome. No wonder that visualization and affirmation are used so successfully by athletes to improve their performance!
In focusing our attention on the outcomes we wish to attract - desirable relationships, joyful work, or abundance - do we deny the presence of the opposite? No, not at all! In the world of duality, polarity is real and necessary so we can exercise freedom to choose. We simply choose to focus on the desired outcomes instead of what we don’t desire. In so doing, we set into motion the power of intention to change or heal by attracting optimal outcomes.
Intention is a powerful force for healing and manifestation. The power of your intention transmits energy that attracts people, situations and synchronicities that resonate with the energy of your desired outcome. Imagine using the power of intention to draw to you clients that can benefit from your skills, friends to enjoy, and opportunities where you can be of service. This principle alone can turn your life around!
To increase your power of attraction, intention needs to be fine-tuned. As you will see, the resulting experience is never different than your thought or intention. If you don't like the results you are getting, change your mind about what is possible by clearing any limiting beliefs that are blocking your full potential.
Our thoughts, attitudes and judgments have an immediate effect on our world. Because the body is electrical and each cell in the body has a positive and negative charge, we are magnetically charged with the vibrational energy of our thoughts and attitudes, and we transmit this energy into the world.
It also means that whatever we send out comes back again - we get to be right about whatever we believe for as long as we choose to believe it!
Instead of existing in a frequency of fear, lack and limitation, we can interrupt habitual thinking with, “How do I prefer it to be?” or “What would be a better way?” Once you have identified the blocks that keep you stuck in limited thinking, you can decide to believe differently about this FEAR or False Evidence Appearing Real.
By changing your thinking, you change your frequency to a higher field of probabilities for optimal outcomes. You have the power within you to change your world!

Staring Down Monsters
Staring Down Monsters
by Ada Porat
When I was five years old, I believed there were terrifying monsters lurking in the shadows of my room. They‘d hide until everyone settled for the night and the house was strangely quiet.
Then, as I drifted off to sleep, they’d emerge from the murky shadows and slowly close in on my bed. I could hear their jagged breathing becoming louder and louder until it felt as if they were right next to me – until suddenly, my father would stop snoring in the room next door and in the ensuing silence, the monsters would slink away to hide again.
These fearsome monsters made for many miserable nights until I finally traced them to their source. Once I knew where they came from, I’d lie in bed and stare into the dark, imagining myself staring the monsters down until they gave up their scary game.
Monsters don’t just live under beds and in closets and dark rooms – they live in all the scary places of our lives. The more we try to shut them out, the bigger they grow.
At work, school or home, we may feel a lot of pressure to conform to external standards of behavior in order to be accepted by other people or by the groups we aspire to. When we are told that we are not smart enough, popular enough or accomplished enough, we become embarrassed about who we are. We may even choose to hide aspects of ourselves: our spontaneity, our passion, or our feelings.
When we deny these aspects of ourselves a valid voice, they don’t disappear – instead, they go hiding in the shadows of our being. From there, they emerge to haunt us at the very times that we are vulnerable, hurt, angry or scared.
Anger that has been suppressed, for instance, may erupt as violent rage at a relatively minor issue such as a driver cutting us off on the road. Are we losing it? Probably not; instead, the anger has been building over time because we have denied the expression of it. Eventually, an event will act as catalyst for all that pent-up emotion to erupt, tumbling us headlong into an abyss of raw emotion.
That suppressed aspect of our being has become a monster.
Monsters are not tamed by killing or exiling them – like Mr. Anderson in the Matrix movies, they always return stronger than before. The more we fear or resist the monsters in our lives, the bigger they become.
Instead, monsters are tamed by facing them. Staring down monsters takes a lot of courage. It means that we make a conscious choice not to run away and resist the urge to cover our eyes, pretending they’re not there.
Swiss psychologist Dr. Carl Jung pioneered the concept of taming monsters – what he called integrating the shadow personality. By finally acknowledging the buried and denied aspects of our personality, we can integrate those aspects into our being to become whole once more.
Once integrated, the anger that exploded into rage, can now take its rightful place in our personality as a valid expression of emotion to guard our boundaries in appropriate ways. In doing so, we are able to live in balance and harmony with our emotions.
Monsters in our emotional closet represent forgotten aspects of our being. By integrating them, we become whole once more, able to tap into the gifts and talents that make each one of us unique.

Eating Elephants
by Ada Porat
When I was a kid growing up in Africa, we loved watching elephants in the wild. Their monumental bodies were bigger than any of the mammals on our farm, and yet they could glide through the bush almost silently on their padded feet.
When something was really, really big, we’d say it is as big as an elephant. The elephant one-liner we love best, went like this:
“How does one eat an elephant?”
We’d gleefully let friends and siblings picture an elephant the size of a house trying to perch on a dinner plate, before answering the riddle:
“One bite at a time, of course!”
At times, we find ourselves faced with responsibilities, obstacles or roadblocks that seem as daunting as having an elephant on your plate. You may find yourself wondering how you’d ever get through things.
And always, the answer is the same: One bite at a time!
If you can keep your eyes on the goal, even the smallest step toward that end is progress. Success may take a while – yet if you commit to the process, it WILL come!
Here are a few more tools to help you manage the elephants in your life and to progress toward your goals:
1. Clarify Your Goals
Spend time thinking about what you want. What does your desired goal look like? How will it make you feel? How will it enrich your life? By creating a clear picture of your desired outcome, you develop a blueprint for success!
2. Declare Your Intention
Intention is a powerful force to put to work for you. When you commit
to the realization of your goal, you create an attractor field that
starts drawing to you the people and circumstances needed to make it a
reality. Once you’ve decided what your desired goal looks like,
declare your firm intention to yourself, to the Universe – and to the
apparent obstacles along the way!
3. Use Positive Affirmations
Where attention goes, energy flows. It's easier to create your desired
outcome when you use positive statements and self-talk. Positive
affirmations nurture the desired outcome instead of feeding doubt and
fear.
4. Tune in to Intuition
Take the time to become still and listen to your inner guidance as while navigating toward your goal. You intuition is a powerful ally that can alert you to opportunities or pitfalls. For some people, this shows up as a ‘gut feeling’ and for others it takes the form of an inner prompt. As you honor your intuition, you will find that it becomes fine-tuned.
5. Ruthlessly Resist Negative Thoughts
Negative thoughts have a way of choking the life out of the positive seeds we plant. Don’t allow negative images of failure and self-pity to rob you of the fruits of your creative process! When a negative thought sneaks up on you, replace it with a positive statement.
6. Take Action
A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. What action could you take now to start the ball rolling on reaching your goal? Make that phone call, write that e-mail; apply for that position - take the first step in the direction you wish to go!
7. Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude
You don't have to postpone happiness until you have achieved all your goals. You can be happy now by taking time to notice and give thanks for small miracles in your life: a valuable lead, a brilliant sunset, a supportive friend. Learn to appreciate the journey toward the goal and not just the goal itself.
