Making Optimal Decisions - The Convenience Factor

Ada Porat - Monday, September 08, 2008
By Ada Porat

On a recent flight, I had an interesting conversation with a fellow passenger. She told me about the difficulties she was facing, having to return to the workplace after many years as a stay-at-home mom. She had been living off the insurance settlement from an accident, but recently had to drain this fund to cover medical expenses and she could no longer make ends meet.

Although she had been well-educated and successful in the workplace earlier in life, she now was at a complete loss about what to do. Should she return to teaching, or apply for a job in a bank, or just take a part-time job in real estate, she wondered. Clearly, she was confused.

I asked her what type of activities made her feel happy and alive.

“Oh, I love being with people, doing creative things, and being a part of the action,” she said.

I asked her if there were any opportunities in her home town where she could work with people doing creative things while earning a living.

“Oh yes,” she said, “There is a wonderful program at the Arts League that offers creative workshops. In fact, I volunteer there two days a week.”

She continued, enthusiastically telling me all about the innovative programs the league offered, and mentioned that they were looking for a new creative arts director.

“Have you applied for the position?’ I asked.

She looked at me with an expression of horror. “Oh no,” she said, “If I do that I’ll have to get up early in the morning – I could never do that any more. It’s too inconvenient!”

Clearly, there was something amiss with the priorities in her life. She felt stuck, yet every option she considered, was quickly dismissed as being too inconvenient, too low-paying, or lacking in some other area. She was victimized by her own confused priorities.

Our conversation left me reflecting on the confusion I so often observe in clients when they are faced with major decisions.

That confusion is rooted in a lack of clear priorities. When our needs, wants and desires all clamor to be met, we are often at a loss about what to do. In the confusion, it is easy give in to the desire for instant gratification and indulgence. Unfortunately, such choices do not bring long-term satisfaction or results.

Clearly, we need some guidelines for the important decisions in our lives.

The most important decisions in your life should be made not by what is convenient, but by what is appropriate. The appropriate decision may be downright inconvenient, yet it could be essential to moving forward. The passenger on the flight had all the skills for the position she described, yet she was not willing to move beyond her comfort zone to get out of her financial dilemma.

Being willing to face inconvenient truths and to take appropriate action, is an important first step. But how do you know what is appropriate for your situation?

The appropriate choice will always be aligned with your core values, not with the endless desires of the ego. It is your core values that drive your behaviors; they determine what you need to do, say or align with to ensure inner harmony. When your choices align with your core values, you will experience inner congruence even in the face of adversity because you are being true to your core.

Decision-making is actually easy when there are no discrepancies in your value system. To make empowering choices, it is necessary to understand your core values. Whenever your choices are not aligned with your core values, you will feel dissatisfied with the outcome in the long run. You will also find it difficult to stand your ground when the going gets tough, because you won’t be prepared to make sacrifices for things you don’t really believe in.

Here are some pointers for appropriate decision-making:

Recognize that every choice has an impact on your life.

Every decision either carries you toward your ultimate life purpose, or acts as a diversion. Ask yourself if your decision is taking you closer to your ultimate goal. If not, it is a distraction, no matter how good it feels or how much you want it! Releasing the distractions in your life will move you closer to your ultimate life purpose.

Discover your core values and honor them.

Your core values drive your behavior. Take time to identify the values that drive your life. Do you strive for honesty at all times, or is it more important for you to have harmonious relationships with others? Are you motivated by your inner truth, or by a sense of accomplishment? Defining your core values is one of the most important exercises you can do. Then, make choices based on your core values; not on shoulds, coulds, woulds, musts or wishes.

Always honor your integrity.

Place your integrity first, your needs second and your wants last. In such a priority system, your choices will honor the spiritual core of your Being. Alignment to your spiritual core acts as a powerful attractor field to draw into your life helpful people, synchronicities and situations. In this way, your needs will always be met! Christ gave his followers that assurance when He said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Let your Higher vision clarify your intention.

Before making important decisions, take time to reflect on your ultimate intention. What is your true intention? Would your intended choice cause harm to others? (I am not referring here to upsetting their egos!) Remember that your soul is ultimately interested in your growth, not in maintaining your physical comfort zone. Alignment with Higher vision will give you a sense of inner peace and confidence; not necessarily convenience or comfort.

Get comfortable with change and chaos.

Change is an inescapable part of life, and it can be chaotic. There is no guarantee that making the appropriate choices will bring you instant reward or success. In fact, sometimes the choice to honor your inner truth will ruffle feathers around you! Honoring your truth may not be comfortable for some, because the light of truth tends to expose the dust bunnies of pretense and illusion.

Never mind! Ultimately, making the appropriate choice is its own reward. Living in integrity with your values aligns you with your Inner direction and the Source of your power. When you honor that Guidance in your daily decisions, life really rocks!

Mining The Gifts Of Change

Mining The Gifts Of Change
By Ada Porat

During times of change, we often experience an instinctive desire to control or direct the process. If we could only control the process, we would feel more comfortable with it – or so we think!

And so, we try all kinds of things to retain a sense of control by attempting to manage the pace, direction and volume of change in our lives. We flock to workshops on goal-setting and manifestation in an effort to control the outcomes of our changing lives.

In short, we attempt to shift our unfolding reality from one outcome to another in order to feel secure. Sadly, these attempts to manage outer conditions merely keep us at the whim of external effects. It keeps us focused on external outcomes to ensure inner happiness or security, rather than looking within.

When we try to control what our journey through life should look like, it also keeps us identified with the content of the process instead of the context, and in so doing we may miss the true blessing of enjoying the perfection of each moment as it unfolds.

There is a more effective way to navigate through change!

Identifying With The Contextual Field

You could choose to focus on the larger picture or context instead, and allow the details of content to be drawn to you by the current of life as it unfolds. As each wave of probabilities emerges, you have free choice to select which aspects of content to accept and which ones to let go of!

This is how it looks: If you are faced with a job change, for instance, you can focus on attracting a new a opportunity that would bring you into more appropriate alignment with your core values, for instance. This choice aligns you with the context of the field you wish to align with. Then, allow this contextual definition to draw to you specific opportunities to choose from. By identifying with the field, you can trust the current of life to bring you opportunities that are resonant with this attractor field, and you do not need to worry about controlling the process.

Really Letting Go

Change can take many forms as we move into new ways of being, leaving the old behind. We may need to leave behind relationships, jobs, friends, homes, neighborhoods, or other vestiges of the old that no longer serve us. As we let go of the old, there is a certain amount of grief that needs to be acknowledged so we can move on.

When we acknowledge the feelings of loss and grief, we are freed from the ties that bound us to circumstances and people at a previous place and time, and we are free to move on. It is very important to allow the expression of these emotions, for it is in the acknowledgement and expression that we find freedom and healing to move on. Emotions that are suppressed never go away – they simply resurface further down to road for us to deal with!

Flying Blind

In shamanic cultures, the bat is seen as powerful medicine. Bats do not have sight, yet dart about with incredible accuracy and speed because they trust their inner radar. In the chaos of sudden change, it may at first feel as if you’re flying blind. However, this is the time to connect with and trust your inner radar. When you connect to your inner guidance, the flight through the unknown takes you to higher ground.

It will also challenge you to surrender your preconceived concepts of life to embrace a greater reality. At any point along the road, you can choose to either resist or to surrender to the process of unfolding, trusting in the Divine guidance within you. As soon as you let go, the current of change can carry you to new perspectives with grace and ease.

Turbulence and Cross Currents

In the world of energy, a change in direction can be observed as a wave form that changes its current. Energies we had set in motion through previous choices continue to return like wave forms for a while afterwards. As we change direction by exercising new choices, the old and new wave forms result in overlapping waves and cross currents. The ensuing turbulence is often experienced as mental fog, confusion or overwhelm.

Don’t let this temporary sensation discourage you or throw you off course. It is part of the process of shifting directions! If you can remain standing during this time of change, the positive changes that are underway will result in a sense of greater clarity, ease and understanding.

Remembering Why

Overwhelm and confusion only arise when taking your eyes off the goal. When you feel overwhelmed by the process, simply bring your focus back to the reasons why you chose to make a change in the first place.

The very nature of change embodies a sense of upheaval. The turbulence of clashing beliefs, crashing hopes and the looming unknown force you to question many values you had simply accepted before. This is your great opportunity for choosing differently, bringing your life and all its outcomes into higher alignment with your soul’s purpose.

Fine-Tuning Your Compass

This time of flux also contains the chance to fine-tune your choices, bringing all energies into alignment so you can draw optimal outcomes into your life.

Each one of us creates our own reality, moment by moment. When you set your intention unwaveringly on reaching your highest potential, you become an unstoppable force. Your very being starts emanating the frequency of what you hold in mind, drawing resonant outcomes to you in every moment through your continuous intention.

This is a very appropriate time to ask yourself if you are living the life you really want. Are you doing what your heart desires, or are you compromising for the security of a job, social status or acceptance? Are you joyful or is dissatisfaction nibbling at your bones, causing you to feel cranky and blame others for your circumstances?

Remember, your experience is a choice.

To change your life, all you need to do is change your mind about things first. If your life doesn’t serve you well, you can change it! It’s as simple as that. The rest is simply a process, the process of outcomes unfolding in response to your intention.

The more consciously you participate in this process of creating your reality, the more you will embrace the outcomes that follow. All your thoughts, emotions, fears, desires and aversions factor into that which you attract in life.

If the outcome does not look like what you had intended, it may be helpful to realize that 90% of your thoughts, emotions, and fears are located in the subconscious. These subconscious elements can sabotage your best intentions. By clearing out limiting emotions and beliefs from the subconscious, you pave the way for your own evolution into your highest expression of being, and you attract optimal outcomes. This process of evolving, then, is the ultimate gift of change.

Twelve Steps For Fearless Living

Ada Porat - Wednesday, August 13, 2008
TWELVE STEPS FOR FEARLESS LIVING

by Ada Porat

At any given moment in life, we find ourselves at a variety of crossroads. These choice points that we have to deal with are at times mundane, or easy, or even downright scary.

Lately, when I talk to people, many of them express that they are facing major, life-defining crossroads.  I am experiencing it myself. For one person it may involve taking their business to another level, for another it may mean leaving a job that no longer works. For others, that life-defining moment is on a personal level: finding the courage to break free from addiction, leave a relationship or reclaim their health.

Something deeper in you is being called forth at the crossroads of life’s journey and, once you answer the call, you know that life will not be the same.

At the initial stage of a life-defining crossroads, you may be unsure about how to proceed. Inspired guidance has not yet come forth and you may feel as if you are lost between the past and the future. This stage offers you the opportunity to embrace the unknown rather than feeling afraid or stuck. How do you do this without going into panic or fear?

It is very helpful to know that the experience of nothingness - the void of the unknown - is really the experience of pure potential. The place of non-material nothingness embodies pure, undifferentiated potential for a new reality to emerge in response to your intention, focus and faith. Instead of emptiness, this space contains the fullness of all possibilities. It offers you the opportunity create a new level of being for your soul to experience.

The experience of this non-material space offers you a profound opportunity for conscious creation. It is helpful to recognize that you are not at the whim of outside circumstances and random events here. You can consciously guide and create events through your focused intention, which forms the core of any creative process. When you set your intention clearly and specifically, you signal to the energies out there to create a reality that resonates with what you hold in mind.

Next, you need to take responsibility for your feelings so that you are in emotional alignment with your intention, banishing any sense of fear, worry, concern or doubt. Wherever our focus goes, energy flows. It is therefore essential to recognize any thoughts, feelings and emotions of fear, and to release these with compassion so your mind can be at peace – the true resting place of faith.

Finally, you have to let go of trying to control outcomes. Instead, present your desire or need to the Divine and then detach from it. Simply let go of all attachments and aversions in relation to the situation: both your attachment to the desired outcome and your fears of the alternative. Allow Divinity to respond to your situation at the appropriate time and in the appropriate way.

Then, allow gratitude to fill your being: give thanks for Divine guidance, provision and support to flow into you with each breath you take. Let the Divine Presence which sustains your very being, surround and fill you with a deep sense of gratitude. The attitude of gratitude expands your perspective to recognize guidance, synchronicities and confirmation on your journey.

From the perspective of gratitude and trust, you will take inspired action rather than pushing to make things happen from a place of fear or control. You are indeed part of a dynamic feedback loop with Divinity; a co-creative relationship where you are holding space for answers to emerge through your intention, faith, and gratitude.

When you grasp the enormous potential inherent in this process, you will see the crossroads of life as an opportunity to create optimal outcomes with the raw materials of life. Co-creating with Divine inspiration, your mind can begin to grasp what it means to have all of time and space at your disposal.

Here are a few principles to keep in mind as you learn to become fearless in the field of all possibilities:

1. Remain detached from your expectations and fears. Recognize that attachment breeds expectation and fear. Instead, focus on the Eternal Source of your supply and keep your focus on that Divine Source rather than on circumstances.

2. Keep your perspective on the present moment. When we focus on the future, we feed fear and anxiety; when we focus on the past, we feed guilt, blame and regret. In the present moment, there is always enough grace to meet your need, no matter how overwhelming the circumstances. By staying focused on the present, you stay open to all the possibilities.

3. Adapt quickly to mistakes. Rather than turning a setback into some judgment about yourself, the situation or somebody else, simply acknowledge your feelings of disappointment and take note of what you have learned from it. Then renew the process of detachment, surrender and trust so you can return to your ultimate resting place of peace.

4. Be alert to tiny signals – major turning points of life often arrive as small signals at first. Learn to see and interpret the metaphors through which life speaks to you.

5. Cultivate a healthy, balanced connection between your soul and body. You will be most effective at decision-making when you remain aware of your spiritual core guiding you through the physical challenges of life, rather than trying to disassociate from either aspect.

6. Stay flexible in your understanding and embrace ambiguity. Transformation is sometimes a messy process. Flexibility makes it easier to release unrealistic expectations when they prove untenable.

7. Be patient. You are a spiritual being that exists in eternity; don’t let human expectations and timelines rob you of peace. Surrender every fear, doubt, anxiety or worry as it surfaces, so you can hold a space of clear intention and trust the perfect unfolding of Divine order.

8. Take fabulously good care of yourself. Nurture yourself with healthy food, exercise and rest so you can have the physical resilience and stamina to realize optimal outcomes.

9. Allow your core values to guide your decisions. When your choices, actions and behaviors are aligned with your values, you won’t need to second-guess yourself.

10. Honor healthy boundaries. Learn that "no" can be a complete sentence. It's a healthy and necessary way to address external demands at a time when you are figuring out major life decisions.

11. Be discerning about the company you keep. During times of change, it is important to receive validation from people whose view of reality matches your own. Such validation and encouragement grounds and supports you in trusting your own inner guidance, whereas negative people deplete your energy.

12. Take time for meditation or contemplation. This practice will help you stay centered and at peace. It is also a powerful way to re-connect to Divine inspiration and fuel for your soul.

Together, these principles can help you fearlessly face the unknown and embrace new possibilities. I suggest that you pick even just one of these principles and make it a part of your life during the next month. Then see what happens!

Facing life-defining crossroads as the co-creator of your life can feel scary or intimating. May these principles help develop you to align with your Divine Source to co-create from a place of faith instead of fear. The cross-roads of your life can become a life-changing opportunity!

More Choices Than You Can Shake A Stick At

More Choices Than You Can Shake A Stick At
by Ada Porat

When faced with decisions, we often find ourselves at a point between seemingly polar opposites: feeling a need to choose between polar opposites of black or white, right or wrong, good or bad. In our desire to make the “right “ choice, we get so caught up in weighing up the extremes that we never notice all the other options in between.

By allowing our focus to expand from the issue at hand to take in the bigger view, we may discover many more options out there. It is often easy to spot the clear-cut ‘yes’ or ‘no’ - yet there are also many other options in between! Instead of limiting ourselves to the obvious, we could expand our scope to include options that will help us move forward with confidence and joy.

In making decisions, we are best served when we consider the bigger picture first. In this way, we can become aware of other aspects that may not be evident when focusing too closely on the issue. Some questions to consider in choosing the most appropriate course of action, include:

Will this choice make me feel more alive?

When we choose the course of action that makes us feel alive, it nurtures our soul – and that leads to growth, joy and fulfillment at all levels.

Does this choice reflect my inner values?

Every choice that reflects our inner values, steers us in small steps to more effectively align with our life purpose. Over the course of time, these imperceptibly small moves can bring about wonderful results. When we don’t honor our inner values in decision-making, the sum total of such choices can result in us feeling lost and detached from life’s meaning.

Will this choice allow me to move forward without causing direct harm or pain to another?

Some choices in life are not easy – there may be a lot of grey options, and not many clear rights or wrongs.

Our responsibility is always to make the highest choice we are capable of.

That means nobody should compromise their own growth out of fear about what others may say or do. When we hold back our own growth because we are afraid of how it may affect our relationships, everyone loses.

When someone takes responsibility for their own growth, everyone is enriched by that choice.

When The Going Gets Tough

Ada Porat - Saturday, July 12, 2008
When The Going Gets Tough
By Ada Porat

Why do we encounter opposition even when we act with good intentions? Why is it so difficult to stand up for our truth? And how do we cope with the expectations of others?

Recently, I committed to what I perceived as my highest truth at the time, only to encounter a wave of backlash and fallout that took me by surprise. Here are some thoughts that unfolded through the process.

Our purpose on this planet can be expressed as being energetic probes for the Divine; millions of tiny probes through whom the Divine experiences Self in all aspects of life. The fulfillment of our purpose requires mastering conscious awareness as being extensions of the Divine, and not getting lost in the dream of life.

Each human being consists of a combination of harmonic energy that is individual to each of us. As individual expressions of the Divine, we remain unduplicated in all of creation. Each of us is unique as we hold and express All That Is across time and space.

Throughout the process of life, we continually contribute information to our very Source as we experience and make choices in every given moment. And Source communicates back to us, providing guidance and clarity when we listen.

Progress on this planet is propelled by choice: the choice between truth or illusion.

By choice, we can move into new experiences or stay rooted in place. It is always up to us. Through the choices we make, every experience is communicated universally as a wave form of energy, and all of creation adjusts accordingly. Talk about power! We have the capability to influence all of creation through the choices we make!

Each of us makes choices that we believe to be optimal, given our level of awareness and insight at the time. Our choices create a resonant frequency field which attracts resonant energies and repels dissonant frequencies. Over time, this quantum attractor field draws particles of probability into becoming possibilities, and, eventually, into becoming our reality. Our thoughts eventually manifest as things.

Very often, the process of choice happens on a subconscious level through our emotions. We hook certain thoughts or beliefs out of the primordial soup of human consciousness through our emotional attachment to them. By emotionally fearing or desiring a certain outcome, we attach to that outcome. The desired or feared choice is then drawn to us through the attractor field of desire or aversion that we have created.

When observing from outside the emotions, it becomes clear that the reality we have created is in resonance with the emotions and beliefs we hold. Therefore, our choices are an accurate reflection of where we are in this moment, and as such they are perfect. When we no longer desire, fear or need the outcomes we have been creating, we can release our emotional attachment to them and choose again – dipping into the abundant Universe to create new and different experiences.

There are choices available in every moment of life: Choices that will take us down one road or another. Choices that mean the difference between comfort and discomfort, between abundance and scarcity, between peace and turmoil. Even the decision not to choose, is a choice!

Choices that are based on inner truth lead to inner empowerment. Choices that compromise one’s truth, lead to confusion.

When we make choices based on our perception of what others will think, we do not honor our truth. Likewise, when we base our choices on how other people will respond, we disregard our inner truth, give our power away and invite confusion.

Perhaps you are facing a situation that requires you to choose an action or a response. When choosing from the place of ego and emotion, you will be tempted to make a choice that is centered in the desire to be liked, accepted, safe or comfortable. And when you do succumb to these ego demands, the end result will be disempowerment and chaos.

You cannot live an authentic life by dishonoring your inner truth. There comes a time for each of us when we must choose to honor our truth and let the chips fall where they may. As Marianne Williamson has said, our playing small does not serve the world!

By choosing from the truth within, that energy field of Truth draw to it resonant frequencies, while repelling dissonant frequencies. If others in your life are at a place where there is dissonance between your inner truth and their expectations, you do not honor yourself or them by diminishing your truth. Far better it is to honor and align with your truth while releasing others to choose their own path, even when it is different from yours.

When you honor your inner truth, its growing presence in your life will reveal many illusions that have clouded your clarity of perception. Anything that is not real will be revealed, and along with this illumination may come a need to release people, places and circumstances in your life that no longer serve your soul’s truth.

As you release these redundant energies, you will find more clarity and integration in your life. If you can choose your truth despite the temporary squeals of the ego for love, popularity, acceptance and safety, you will find that you move beyond vulnerability to its demands.

The Course in Miracles teaches that Truth is not frail. Truth can withstand the demands of the ego. It can surmount the envy, wrong perceptions and judgments of others, because it needs no defense.

True power lies in choosing from within, from the strength of having owned your fears, from the gentleness that you carry with grace. Each time you choose to honor your truth, you are creating more resonance to empower you on your journey.

There's Always More Than Two Choices

Breaking Free From Duality
by Ada Porat

On Sunday morning, I took a hike in the mountains near my home. It was a beautiful morning, everything freshly washed and bright after the rains. Along the trail, birds were singing with gusto as they danced from bush to tree to cactus among a sea of orange-yellow daisies that covering the lower areas of the valley.

I was admiring the variety of color, shape, sound and texture: a rich harvest of bounty that lights up the desert after the winter rains.

While feasting my eyes on the rich diversity of the landscape, I caught sight of hundreds of milky quartz outcroppings lining the pathway in various shades of white. Among them I also noticed the dense black forms of basalt rock – silent reminders of volcanic activity eons ago. The two tones of white and black rocks seemed to dominate the desert landscape.

As the pathway started winding up against the mountainside, the terrain changed. As the vegetation became a little sparser, I noticed the presence of slate formations – hundreds of stones in every possible shade of grey: from dark to light and everything in between. And then, right where the trail started winding up toward the next peaks, I discovered a selection of sandstone, all in rich colors of purple, blue, red and even orange – reminiscent of the outrageously bright sandstone formations around the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. I stopped to admire the awesome shapes, colors and textures. On the shady side of the cliff, I even discovered some rocks covered in lichen the color of flamboyant chartreuse!

While taking a break at the peak, the changing landscape got me thinking about the duality of life in the third dimension…

When faced with decisions, we often find ourselves at a point between seemingly polar opposites: feeling a need to choose between options that appear as polar opposites of black or white, right or wrong, win or lose, good or bad. In our desire to make the “right “ choice, we get so caught up in weighing up the extremes that we never notice all the other options in between.

When we allow our focus to expand from the issue at hand and take in the bigger view, we may discover a wide array of choices that are available out there. Yes, there are clear-cut whites and blacks, but there is also a rich array of other options in between! And they are all part of the landscape of life. We are free to choose from this vast array whatever it is that will help us to move forward with confidence and joy.

In making decisions, we are best served when we take in the large picture first. By doing so, we become aware of other aspects that may not be evident when focusing too intently on the issue before us. Some of the questions that can assist us in choosing the most appropriate course of action, include:

Will this choice make me feel more alive?

When we choose the course of action that makes us feel alive, it nurtures our soul – and that leads to growth, joy and fulfillment at all levels.

Does this choice reflect my inner values?

Every choice that reflects our inner values, steers us in small steps to more effectively align with our life purpose. Over the course of time, these imperceptibly small moves can bring about wonderful breakthroughs. When we don’t honor our inner values in decision-making, the sum total of such choices can result in a sense of feeling lost and detached from life’s meaning.

Will this choice allow me to move forward without causing direct harm or pain to another?

Some choices in life are not easy – there may be a lot of grey options, and not many clear rights or wrongs. Our responsibility is always to make the highest choice we are capable of. Others have free will to do likewise. That means that nobody should compromise their own growth out of fear about what others may say or do. When we hold back our own growth because we are afraid of how it may affect our relationships, both parties lose. The only way to have loving, fulfilling relationships with others is for all parties to take responsibility for their own growth.

Your Mind Matters

Ada Porat - Monday, March 31, 2008
Your Mind Matters
By Ada Porat

The way you think of yourself determines your success or failure in everything.

Think about this truth for a moment. What do you really think about yourself? Do you like yourself? Are you able to think of yourself as one who succeeds in all or most objectives, or do thoughts of failure dominate your mind?

If you have accepted an idea of inferiority concerning your looks, your talents, your ability to make friends or be successful, then it is time to take a closer look – that idea could be holding you back!

The truth is that we are all a mixture of talents and challenges. It is simply what you focus on, that seems to grow ever larger. You are extraordinary in many ways because you are unique. You are different from others, and therein lies your magnificence. There is no other single being in the universe exactly like you. You have talents and latent abilities that no one else can match!

Every soul in human form is divine. Some human souls perhaps display the radiance of their being more clearly because they have peeled away the layers that obscure their inner brilliance. When we look at the brilliance of others, we may be tempted to compare that to our weaknesses – but wait! Instead of doing that, recognize that your brilliance is simply in different areas.

At any given time, your magnificence is only a thought and an action away! You have no limitations except the ones you have accepted and thus imposed on yourself. The mind simply programs our emotions with the beliefs we feed it. Without exception, your beliefs help create every seeming reality you experience. This is universal law that works in every area of your life.

To reveal your true nature, your true magnificence, then, you need to identify what limiting beliefs lie hidden within. Once we identify and discard the false beliefs we hold about ourselves and our version of reality, our limitations simply disappear. The truth does frees us from within!

In three-dimensional reality, a false belief is just as powerful as a true belief. The mind has no way of distinguishing between true and false beliefs. What ever we hold in mind, tends to manifest in our reality. However, the instant you stop giving your power — your life energy or focus — to a false belief, it ceases to hold any power over you or your life..

Every human being in this majestic universe has been given the unique gift of free choice. This divine gift makes us equal co-creators with God. Because we have free choice, we each live in the kind of world we have chosen to live in. For each of us, it is solely the power of our beliefs that produce matching outcomes: physical health or disease, happy or sad emotions; and the many nuances of experience in the physical world. We create the results we get in our world, for better or for worse. If we don’t like the results we are getting, we can choose again!

Why do beliefs have so much power? Because they stem from ideas and thoughts, which are the primary reality we experience in the third dimension. In the third dimension, we deal with a world of polarity or opposites. A belief glues itself into this reality from either end of the duality spectrum. Everything in this reality has a dualistic opposite. For example, one end may be polarized into faith while the other end holds fear. Either one of these two equally strong electric states of consciousness is able to move and change your world. Fear is equally powerful to faith. Either state brings equivalent construction or destruction.

And we have freedom to choose! When you understand the interplay between the two opposites of faith and fear, would you consciously choose to remain fearful? Knowing our powerful ability to create that which we focus on, we can make better choices!

Knowing that you have free choice, you can stop beating yourself up over choices that did not serve you well. And yes, you can choose again, this time empowered by the wisdom of the insights gained!

Seven Steps To Success

Seven Steps To Success
by Ada Porat

1. Clarify Your Goals

Spend time thinking about what you want. What does your desired goal look like? How will it make you feel? How will it enrich your life? By creating a clear picture of your desired outcome, you develop a blueprint for success!

2. Declare Your Intention

Intention is a powerful force to put to work for you. When you commit to the realization of your goal, you create an attractor field that starts drawing to you the people and circumstances needed to make it a reality. Once you’ve decided what your desired goal looks like, declare your firm intention to yourself, to the Universe – and to the apparent obstacles along the way!

3. Use Positive Affirmations

Where attention goes, energy flows. It's easier to create your desired outcome when you use positive statements and self-talk. Positive affirmations nurture the desired outcome instead of feeding doubt and fear.

4. Tune In To Intuition

Take the time to become still and listen to your inner guidance as while navigating toward your goal. You intuition is a powerful ally that can alert you to opportunities or pitfalls. For some people, this shows up as a ‘gut feeling’ and for others it takes the form of an inner prompt. As you honor your intuition, you will find that it becomes fine-tuned.

5. Ruthlessly Resist Negative Thoughts

Negative thoughts have a way of choking the life out of the positive seeds we plant. Don’t allow negative images of failure and self-pity to rob you of the fruits of your creative process! When a negative thought sneaks up on you, replace it with a positive statement.

6. Take Action

A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. What action could you take now to start the ball rolling on reaching your goal? Make that phone call, write that e-mail; apply for that position - take the first step in the direction you wish to go!

7. Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude

You don't have to postpone happiness until you have achieved all your goals. You can be happy now by taking time to notice and give thanks for small miracles in your life: a valuable lead, a brilliant sunset, a supportive friend. Learn to appreciate the journey toward the goal and not just the goal itself.

It's Time To Rise And Shine

by Ada Porat

At the start of this year, Spirit tapped me on the shoulder and said,

“This year, you are going to shine brighter than you could ever have imagined.

Get ready for a very bright light.

              But, there are two conditions…

You have to choose it with every cell in your being,

And… you have to be willing to leave your past behind.”

That glimpse of what we can attract in life, gives us the courage to move forward into the unknown. That is one of the main reasons why Spirit gives us a foretaste of our potential.

But courage alone will not get the job done.

We need to choose to align ourselves with the highest possible outcome for our lives, to commit to the process of becoming all that we can be.

When we choose to commit to the process, we become so clear in our focus that we never even notice the terrifying things that lurk about in the forest of “What Ifs” and “Whys.”  We no longer notice the reasons why we might fail, because we are so intent on our highest good every step of the way.

The second step in this journey is to be willing to relinquish the past with all its bells and whistles:  the good, the bad and the ugly!

Yesterday’s glories and woes have served their purposes.  They are behind us now.  Past events need not be an indicator for today’s results unless we choose to do things the same way.  As spiritual beings, we are gloriously free to create our reality from moment to moment.

What we may have viewed as failures, were only lessons to keep seeking a better way.  We can clear the pain caused by our own limiting beliefs and release the perpetrators of trauma so we can break free. As we release each block or trigger held in our energy fields, we free our spirits to soar.

By releasing the pain and limitations of the past, our true beauty is revealed as spiritual beings on this lovely planet.  We become true beings of light; living, moving and being in that very essence.

When that happens, our mere presence on this planet becomes a healing balm.
